DON’T TRASH IT – EAT IT OR SMASH IT! Join us at Ryman’s Pumpkins for our Pumpkin Smashing Event and Artisan Market—a fun-filled family day out right after Halloween!
Did you know?
Every year, a staggering 22.2 million pumpkins go to waste. Plus, millions of once-worn Halloween outfits end up in landfill. It’s time to do something about it—together!
When: 1st November, 10:00 AM
Where: Our pumpkin field : Come dressed in your Halloween costumes and get ready to wreak (safe!) havoc on our pumpkins! Roll them, throw them, bowl them, drop them, stand on them, smash them—let’s have fun while helping nature compost our pumpkins and enrich the soil for next year’s crops. You can even bring back your lanterns purchased earlier this month. Just remove any candles or decorations and squash them into the soil to keep them out of landfill! But once they’re gone they’re gone!! Normally by midday the pumpkins are no more!
PARKING CAN BE HECTIC ON THIS DAY AS SMASHERS COME ALL AT ONCE. PLEASE BEAR WITH US.
Still want a pumpkin to carve or eat?
No problem! Pumpkins will be free on the day for you to take home.
At 2 PM, Farmer Stuart, Joe or Ben will drive the tractor through the patch to tidy up the field—perfect for tractor fans to watch the show! Then the field will rest until next year.
Afternoon: If youre not a smasher, but still want to come to the Artisan market in the afternoon, we are offering very discounted prices, for those wanting to come later in the day after the smashing is over.
Artisan market:
We’re thrilled to announce that we have some incredible artisan stalls joining us, bringing together some of the very best makers, creators and independent businesses from across the local area.
Expect beautiful handmade products, unique gifts, delicious treats, lots of crafts and plenty of things you won’t find on the high street.
We’ve carefully selected a fantastic line-up of talented local traders.
Whether you’re looking for something special, picking up a gift, treating yourself or simply fancy a browse, there’ll be plenty to discover.
